Alex Schauwecker was born in 1982 in Kyoto and spent his first seven years there. Since then he lives in Switzerland and today works as an artist.

In his stories the protagonists sometimes are whales, wolves or dinosaurs. These animals are archaic beings for the artist, with whom he can identify. They do not live in nature far away from civilization, but move around in an urban environment. They must steadily face the challenges of today's life and find their way.
