Max Freund (1992) is a Vienna based painter. He is interested in diverting materials, especially fabrics, from their intended use. Through an experimental working approach, he tries to shape the haptic feeling of an image in various ways. Max Freund recently had solo shows at G/art/en contemporary art space in Italy, Kunstverein Wolfenbüttel in Germany, Studio H13 Lyon and WUK Vienna.

We know each other observes the coexistence and relation between a man and a tree. The fabrics used for the collages were originally dirt dusters, then laundered and dyed several times in the washing machine.
