Masoto is a visual artist and illustrator who explores the complex relationship between humans and the rural environment. His work, distributed internationally (in bookstores like Yvon Lambert, Paris, and Printed Matter, New York) and featured in collaborations with publishers (including Nero Edizioni and Mousse Magazine), is deeply informed by his personal experience. Since 2015, Masoto has been a member of WWOOF, working on farms across Asia, Europe, and beyond. These field immersions enrich his imagination, leading to editorial projects that use irony to reflect on humanity's future in non-urban contexts. His signature style centers on the ironic contrast between bucolic nature and the human figure, spotlighting our contradiction and distance from the ecosystem.
Nowadays, the search for wellness often translates into long walks in the mountains or in what is commonly defined as "nature", seen as an unspoiled place, distant from civilization and human activity. This fanzine, set in a dystopian future, overturns that ideal. Humans have occupied almost every square meter of the planet, transforming forests into places of perdition. Here, amidst neo-shamanic tribes, arms trafficking, and madness, the famous shinrin-yoku (forest baths) turn into horrifying adventures that one must escape.
