In her work, Sarah Margnetti often combines bodily figures with architectural elements. Her characters move freely across surfaces, transform, and appear in fragments, contrasting with the meticulously rendered architectural settings. The artist plays intuitively with mediums and scales, exploring the boundaries between interiority and exteriority. Through these images suspended in time, a narrative can be glimpsed without ever being made explicit. The precision and depth of each work encourage viewers to pause, look more closely, and reflect on the hidden layers beneath the surface as much as on the subconscious structures that govern human interactions.

The series of works in this zine was first shown at PANO in Vevey (Switzerland). In Le souvenir embellit nos rêves Margnetti offers a kinetic play of transparency, created by the partial openings of Venetian blinds. Within it unfolds a frame-by-frame sequence shot of two hands rising and walking, ultimately meeting in the central display window – the site of encounter – thus playing with the wandering of bodies.

Sarah Margnetti lives and works in Brussels. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts from the Cantonal Art School of Lausanne (ECAL) and a Master's degree in Visual Arts from the Geneva University of Art and Design (HEAD). She also completed technical training in decorative painting at the Institut Van der Kelen-Logelain in Brussels.
