This new zine by Henry Roy is about a cinematic and dreamy vision of Ibiza, where he spent his last summer holidays (and has been visiting many times since the late eighties).

In the time of confusion we are living in, I choose to focus my visual essay on the famous rock island Es Vedra, which is well known for its good energy. The island and environment are photographed as a symbolic sanctuary for my family, friends and myself. A quiet and melancholic place, far from our cities. Henry Roy

Henry Roy was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and emigrated to France at a young age with his parents, where they obtained political refugee status. He currently resides and works in Paris, where he developed a photographic style expressive of identity disorder, stemming from his uprooting. The pervasive sense of distance invading his portraits and reports manifests the psychology of the errant, wholly bereft of attachments, allowing an interpretation of the real through an intensely personal docu-drama. Roy’s work has been published most notably in Purple Journal, Purple Fashion, Vogue Paris, Dazed & Confused, Hobo Magazine or ArtReview.
